The collection contains a glass plate ambrotype of a published engraving of Robert E. Lee based on a Vannerson and Jones 1864 photograph. The collection contains 3 glass plate negatives (nos.1-3) and positive photographs of a letter dated Nov. 8, 1826, from Eliza Parke Custis to Simon Bolivar eulogizing her grandparents George and Martha Washington. The collection also contains a glass plate negative (no.4) and positive photograph of the University of Virginia diploma awarded to William Carr of Albemarle for graduating with a degree in medicine in 1833. The collection also contains a glass plate negative (no.5) and positive photograph of the signatures of Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Cocke in the minute book of the Board of Visitors, 1817 May 5. The collection also contains a glass plate negative (no.6) and positive photograph of a testimonial certificate presented to University of Virginia President Edwin A. Alderman in recognition of his distinguished service to medical education on the occasion of the opening of the new medical complex, 1929. The collection also contains a large glass plate negative (no.11) (no positives), ante 1938? of a view of Hollins College produced by Edward L. Stone. The collection also contains a large glass negative (no.13) of an unidentified woman in an elaborately fringed dress with ostrich feathered hat. The collection also contains a glass plate negative (no.10) of a portrait of an early 19th century gentleman. The collection also contains film negatives and positives of an oil portrait of an unidentified woman. The collection also contains a film negative and a positive of a sketch of Dr. David C. Wilson in a lab coat by John Middleton Freeman, 1946. The collection also contains film negatives and positives of an unidentified early English manuscript The collection also contains film negatives and positive photographs of a World War II patriotic display promoting the purchase of Fourth War Loan (Victory) Bonds in a Thalhimers Department Store. Images include a three dimensional model of the famous Iwo Jima flag raising, General George S. Patton decorating a soldier, and a store manequin wearing an Arctic uniform. The collection also contains film negatives and a positive photograph of a masonic certifcate, 1871, from the Grand Lodge of Virginia.
