Sending as promised "the whole affair" (of Woodstock?); discussing its London publication, suggesting that Ballantyne offer it to both Longman and Murray with the view of taking the best offer; referencing the copyright on this and his other works; adding that he is "constantly turning my thoughts to Napoleon;" sending some edits for the Woodstock proofs. With a postscript further discussing the sale of his work to London publishers, noting "we must take care of lowering the market."
