The collection contains galleys and reviews of Herbert Ruhm's edition of Henry James' Confidence and A Passionate Pilgrim. Confidence was the fifth novel that Henry James published originally for the American journal Scribner's Monthly as a serial from August 1879 to January 1880. The text from these serials was then published in February 1880 by Houghton, Osgood, and Company of Boston, Massachusetts.
