Expressing great pleasure at hearing from her, saying he would have written sooner if he had known her address; reporting that his family is well and that his son Walter is presently in France, on the advice of some doctors, attempting to get rid of a cough; describing his grandson Johnnie Lockhart's recovery of health and discussing the rest of his family; hoping that she will visit the following year.
