Eliot Grinnell Mears papers, 1921-1927.

Collection consists of two items: a copy of his report, RESIDENT ORIENTALS ON THE AMERICAN PACIFIC COAST, published by the Institute of Pacific Relations in 1927; and his typescript report to Stanford president Ray Lyman Wilbur on the fifth annual session of the Institute of Politics, Williams College, held during July and August, 1925. The 1925 report includes his personal observations (11 pages); sample programs, schedules, and publicity; report by Mears (as the Round Table Secretary) on Arnold J. Toynbee's presentation on the Mediterranean area, with special reference to the Arab countries; diary of significant topics discussed; a photograph of the participants; and printed proceedings of earlier sessions of the Institute (1921-23).
