The collection includes photographs of Wiggmore's family and his naval career, including both officers and enlisted men. There are 35 photographs of the surrender ceremony in the USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, including General Douglas MacArthur and ADM Chester W. Nimitz signing the terms of surrender. Miscellany includes a parking pass, a menu, an invitation and a newspaper clipping.

Wiggmore, James L., 1895-1968.

Wiggmore was born in Attleboro, MA in 1895. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War I and World War II. Wiggmore attended the Naval War College's Preparatory Staff Class, June 1944 and then was sent to the Pacific where he participated in the landings at Leyte Gulf.
