Saying he is pleased to hear that she has received both copies of Marmion; reporting that "All the Whigs here are in arms" against it; discussing the reasons why has chosen to edit Swift's works instead of embarking on another "original production," noting "The naturalists tell us that if you destroy the web which the spider has just made the insect must spend many days in inactivity till he has assembled within his person the materials necessary to weave another. Now after writing a work of imagination one feels [in] nearly the same exhausted state with the spider;" mentioning mutual acquaintances.
