Concerning a transcript Mrs. Scott is making for the Marchioness; sending a poem under another cover, but asking that she not share it with anyone as "I may probably make some alterations in them before the final publication;" thanking her for her assistance in procuring a "passport to the Dorset papers" [which include three Dryden letters]; mentioning that Lord Melville is in Edinburgh; referencing a new Bill introduced by Lord Grenville; reporting that there is a new edition of Scott's Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border.
