Mentioning that they returned from their travels about a fortnight ago; describing his visit to Rokeby Park and the landscape there; saying he has acquired a "terrier puppy of the old shaggy Celtic breed" through Miss Dunlop. Praising Robert Southey's poetry and character, and mentioning that hinted to Southey "that there was a kind feeling existing towards him in the mind of Mr. Canning." With a postscript urging Ellis to contact Southey if he thinks his plan is feasible.
