Adventurer, fur trader and trapper, guide, and chief of the Crow Indians, 1824-1836. Beckwourth fought in the Mexican War, 1845, was involved in fighting various Indian tribes, rustled horses with Chief Walkara, 1846, and was employed by A.P.
