Louis Friedman papers, 1973-2003.

The Louis Friedman papers include correspondence, financial records, flyers and handbills, newspaper clippings, publicity materials, and subject/reference files. The collection includes information about the following organizations: Promoting Enduring Peace, PACE (Peoples Action for Clean Energy), Beyond Nuclear, EarthKind (a division of the Humane Society of the United States that seeks to promote concern for the planet and for animals), Healing Global Wounds, and Jelly Jam (an initiative centered on Judi Friedman's book Jelly Jam: an Environmental Reading Activity Book first published in 1972 and issued in many later editions and translations). Much of the collection consists of planning materials for trips or events in Russia, Chernobyl (Ukraine), and other countries in the Soviet Union and Former Soviet Republics, as well as Brazil, Cuba, and China. The collection also includes photographs and political buttons.
