Correspondence, plans or diagrams for synchronized swimming performances, awards, passports, travel notes, newsclippings, photographs, scrapbooks, and other papers of Katherine Whitney Curtis. Materials relate to her childhood in Wisconsin; her work as a physical education teacher; her activities as developer of synchronized swimming in Chicago in the 1930s; and her career as a Red Cross and later U.S. Army civilian employee who arranged recreational opportunities for officers on leave in post-World War II Europe; her travels in Europe and Mexico; and her retirement in Florida and Washington Island, Wisconsin. Correspondents include family, friends, and co-workers. Also present is earlier family materials of her mother, Anne T. Whitney; of her sister, Anne T. Whitney; and of her grandfather, L. C. Whitney.
