Diaries, 1864-1866.

Two diaries running from 14 Oct. 1864 to 30 June 1865, with an additional entry of accounts for Jan. 1866. Volume 2 of the diaries is actually the regimental clerk's journal which includes an entry on 12 Apr. 1865 recording Lee's surrender. Other items include regimental reports and rosters and a history of the regiment. Includes a typescript of the diaries.

Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870.
