Correspondence, printed material, creative works, photographs, architectural drawings, maps, lists, and financial records documenting Eickenroht's involvement in historic preservation, his architectural practice, and aspects of his personal life. The bulk of the papers span the last three decades of Eickenroht's life and career, 1939-1969. The largest subgroup of the papers concerns historic preservation and documents the organizations to which he contributed his expertise, the preservation projects and activities in which he was involved, and the assorted preservation-related material that he collected. Largely associated with Texas, included are records related to the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, and Historic American Buildings Survey. The second subgroup contains material pertaining to Eickenroht's architectural practice. Restoration projects documented include Fort Davis and the Yturri-Edmunds house and mill in San Antonio. Eickenroht's personal records consist of a few scattered items. An extensive body of photographs was produced over a range of time, though many probably date from the 1930s HABS project. These include structures in San Antonio and other sites around Texas (particularly extensive for Bastrop, Comal, Galveston, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Marion, Medina, San Augustine, Starr and Washington counties). Most of the non-Texas photographs were gathered in conjunction with the HABS project and are extensive for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. A smaller number of photographs show Eickenroht's architectural work and other architectural images, including several photos of drawings by the firm C.H. Page and Brother of Austin. Some personal photographs are also included. Significant correspondents represented in the papers include Orin M. Bullock, Charles E. Peterson and Earl H. Reed.
