Lieutenant General (LTG) Claude M. Kicklighter was born in Glenville, Georgia. He was commissioned into the U.S. Army through ROTC at Mercer University. Kicklighter went into artillery in October 1955 and then began quartermaster training in September 1957. He served two tours in Vietnam.
