The Sidney T. Weinstein oral history transcript consists of a 261 page transcribed oral history interview. He discusses why he went to the U.S. Military Academy and shares some of his experiences. He talks about the training he received in military intelligence, his assignment in Ecuador, and his tour in Vietnam. Weinstein describes his time at the U.S. Army Combat Developments Command Intelligence Agency and give his views of the U.S. Army War College. He also shares his experiences as brigade commander. He discusses his responsibilities as Deputy Commander for Support, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command and as Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence. Weinstein talks about life after retirement, and also the Army Intelligence Master Plan, the Civilian Intelligence Personnel Management System, the use of deputies, personnel management, and gender integration.

Historical note: The First Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division was sent to Vietnam in 1965. It was the third United States Army unit to arrive. Lieutenant General (LTG) Sidney T. Weinstein was raised in Elmer, New Jersey. He received his commission from the U.S. Military Academy in 1956 and joined the infantry. From December 1956 to July 1959, Weinstein served 4 assignments with the 101st Airborne Division. He took a course at the U.S. Army Intelligence School and began serving in research and intelligence in November 1959.
