Martha Kendall (1811-1887) married Joshua T. Smith (1816-1869) in 1837. Dissenters (Unitarians), they travelled from England to Mass. In 1842 they returned to London where Joshua worked as a barrister in Highgate. Together, Martha and Kendall had five children: Lucy T. who was born in Mass.; and her siblings who were all born in England, Sarah "Elie" E.T.; Frances "Fanny" T.; Arthur T.; and Alfred T. Smith. Both Arthur and Alfred became solicitors. Arthur died in 1914 in Moscow. Lucy (1838-1911)...
