Letter, January 28, 1808.

Letter of January 28, 1808 to SECNAV Robert Smith regarding his request to have a house of brick built at the New York Navy Yard in the spring. He forwards plans for a wood and brick house. Since materials are plentiful and inexpensive and labor is cheap, he recommends building in the spring.
