Ray Bethers papers, 1949-1950.

Collection contains correspondence and writings. Correspondence consists chiefly of letters between Bethers and other artists relating to a book project on landscape painting featuring the work of American artists; many letters are accompanied by artists' statements. Conrrespondents include: Aaron Bohrod, Jean de Botton, Alexander Brook, Jean Charlot, Nicolai Cikovsky, Howard Cook, Russell Cowles, Adolf Dehn, Lamar Dodd, Stephen Etnier, Ruth Gikow, Bernard Karfiol, Karl Knaths, Armin Landeck, Erle Loran, Luigi Lucioni, John Marin, Ben Shahn, Benton Spruance, Reuben Tam, Vaclav Vytlacil, and many others.
