Account book, 1827-1856.

Manuscript account book in unidentified handwriting which documents the activities and finances of the printing firm of Isaac R. Butts and Co. of Boston, 1827-1843, with added entries for 1856. Journal entries are present for many of the company's clients, including publishers William D. Ticknor, Charles Bowen, Carter and Hendee, Samuel G. Griswold, and the Unitarian Association, as well as projects such as Bowditch's translation of Mécanique céleste. Expenditures for paper and workmen are recorded; also in the volume is a chronological list of jobs completed between 1827 and 1843.
