Manuscript, in a single hand, of a 296-line laudatory poem addressed to John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute. The poem praises his "godlike Unkle" and his "well conducted youth" before giving advice to Bute about governance by describing the opposing attributes of wisdom and cunning and their effects on private and public life.
