Manuscript, in a single hand, of a copy of the articles of marriage between the Prince of Wales, later Charles I, and Henrietta Maria. The document discusses the particulars of the marriage ceremony, insisting particularly that the Princess will be allowed free exercise of the Roman Catholic religion, including retaining Roman Catholic servants, and that the King and Prince of England will swear an oath not to attempt to make her renounce her faith. The document also specifies the amount of her dowry, stipulates how their children will be raised, and explains what will happen if one predeceases the other. Laid in is a later English translation of the manuscript.
