[Collection of political and Catholic writings], [ca. 1620-90].

Manuscripts, in several hands, of a collection of eight papers on religious and political topics. The collection includes Philo-Britannicus, or historical animadversions uppon the constitution of the kingdome of Ireland and the management of the warre there 1641 and 1642; Sir George Carew's Quantity, situation and strength of France, dated 1609; Thomas Bayly's Originall of kingly and ecclesiastical government, dated 1681; Henry Howard's epistle to the Queen Elizabeth; and Memorial of a discourse by Charles the Fifth... to Philip his sonne, a version of the Advice published London in 1670. The volume also contains a small collection of Catholic texts, including A weekely exercise of the infancy of the saviour; A breefe methode for sayinge the Rosary of our Lady, or Beads; and a list of the fifteen mysteries.
