Manuscript collection of satirical poems and anecdotes on various topics; contents include: a burlesque narrative poem entitled "John and Susan," and other verses and anecdotes about marriage, courtship, and sex; verses and anecdotes about alcohol and tobacco; a series of poems about a prostitute named Dorothy, attributed to inscriptions by Sir John Falstaff and others on a tavern windowpane in 1414; impromptu satirical verse on William Cavendish-Bentnick, 3rd Duke of Portland, and other political and historical anecdotes and epigrams on figures including King James I, Oliver Cromwell, Napoleon Bonaparte, Richard Brinsley Butler Sheridan, and several others; anecdotes about clergy, dentists, doctors, lawyers, butchers, servants, and other occupations; a copy of a military recruitment handbill for a battalion in Mexico, and other military anecdotes; anecdotes on Quakers and Americans; epitaphs.
