[Collection of materials concerning Richard Brinsley Sheridan], [ca. 1898-1900].

Manuscripts, in various hands, of items relating to the life, family, and literary productions of Richard Brinsley Sheridan. Several of the items are related to Fraser Rae's biographical work on Sheridan, including printed proofs of Rae's articles on "Sheridan's Brother," marked "1st Proof," and "Sheridan's Sons," marked "2nd Pf," with a handwritten note pinned to it with further notes regarding Tom Sheridan. The collection also includes, in Rae's hand, transcripts of letters to Sheridan from the Prince of Wales, later King George IV, and a newspaper article on Sheridan by Rae. The collection includes a large chart of the Sheridan family tree beginning in 1550; photographs of the manuscript of the School for Scandal and of a letter from Arthur Wellesley, 1st duke of Wellington; and a newspaper clipping of an article titled Biographical Sketch of the Right Hon. Richard Brinsley Sheridan. Written by John Taylor, esq. in the year 1799.
