[Roman Catholic controversy], [17th century].

Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, containing an account of the controversy between the Roman and Reformed churches. The manuscript has been written by a Catholic who makes frequent references to the writings of Robert Bellarmine, and covers such subjects as the Apocrypha, authority of the Vulgate, the nature of Christ, the Anti-Christ, Papal infallibility; and the terms "clergy" and "laity." The work is divided into four books: "De controversus circa Dei verbum et S. Scripturam," "Complectens controversias circa Christi personam atque officium," "De ecclesiae regimine ex Pontifice Romano, item de Anti-Christo," and "De Ecclesia Militante."
