Roxburghe Club album, 1807-1936.

Album containing a collection of ALS written by members of the Roxburghe Club, London, including George Spencer Churchill, 5th Duke of Marlborough, Thomas Frognall Dibdin, and William George Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire. A letter written by John Ker, third Duke of Roxburghe, is also included. Related engravings, clippings, bookplates, coats of arms, and club rules, member lists, and other printed materials are tipped and laid in. Holograph and typed contents lists laid in.

Freeling began his career in the Bristol Post Office and moved to London in 1787. There he held the successive Postal Service positions of surveyor, principal and resident surveyor, joint secretary, and sole secretary.
