Diary of Nancy Peirson, 1846-1849.

Nancy Richards Peirson was born in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, on November 22, 1792. She married William Peirson (1793-1862) in 1819 and was the aunt of Franklin D. Richards and S.W. Richards. Peirson died near the Platte River while traveling to Utah on July 15, 1852. Facsimile of Nancy Peirson's 1846-1849 diary, kept while she was living near Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The diary alternates between entries on her "domestic concerns" and family, and prayers for the future of the Mormon Church (an early entry states "I do believe the set time to form Zion has arrived"). Includes references to Parley Pratt, Franklin D. Richards, and Samuel Whitney Richards. The final pages include poems and songs by Nancy and her daughter Eliza Peirson.
