Mildred McCollom was born January 3, 1914 in Fort Worth, Texas and was reared there. In 1936 she auditioned and was hired by the Texas Centennial Live Stock & Frontier Days Exposition as a show girl for the Casa Manana Playhouse and Billy Rose's Fort Worth Frontier Centennial 1936-1937 seasons. In the early 1940s Miss McCollom travelled to New York with showman Billy Rose and his performance company. She appeared in many performances in New York and Florida.
