Robert Nelson, a longtime administrator at the Nevada Test Site, was interviewed about his work as manager of the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant in the early 1990s. He was brought in by the Department of Energy following the FBI raid of the plant. He describes his work in changing the safety culture at the plant, his relations with union leaders, and his efforts to be more open with the public and with the media. He also describes his work as an Episcopal priest and its impact on his role at Rocky Flats.

James David Watkins was born March 7, 1927, in Alhambra, California. He received a B.S., from the United States Naval Academy in 1949 and received his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in 1958.
