One letter (n.d.) from Daniel Garrison Brinton (1837-1899) to "P." The letter was tipped into a copy of Brinton's Rig Veda Americanus. When the worn 1890 edition, containing the letter, was replaced by the 1969 edition, the letter was removed.

Dr. Daniel Garrison Brinton (13 May 1837-31 July 1899) was born in Thornbury Township, Chester County, Pa., on "Homestead Farm" to Lewis and Ann (Garrison) Brinton. Brinton entered the army as a surgeon and served as Medical Director of the II Army Corps, holding the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel.
