Thanking her for her letter and offering various observations on the "Americana" during his short visit; indicating that he began a letter to her after a visit to Miss Coormeley but was interrupted and began again after being with Mrs. Gardner; mentioning the "quite incredible rarities" of "a Mormon lawyer one Johnson," with whom he spent two hours the previous day.
