Faulkner family papers [manuscript] 1829-1929.

The collection consists of the official, personal, and business correspondence of Charles James Faulkner, Sr., and Charles James Faulkner, Jr. The elder Faulkners papers contain legal, personal letters; official correspondence as U.S. minister to France, 1860-1861; and letters to Lewis Cass, William Seward, and Jeremiah Black. The largest group of papers concern the business affairs of the younger Faulkner, his activities as counsel for the Atlanta and West Point Railroad, Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, Central Railroad of Georgia, Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad, Delaware and Hudson Railroad, Louisville and Nashville Railroad, Missouri Pacific Railroad, Mobile and Ohio Railroad, New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, New York Central Railroad, Norfolk and Western Railroad, Pennsylvanie Railroad, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac Railroad, Rock Island Railroad, Southern Railroad, Southern Pacific Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, 1905-1917. The papers include material on railroad legislation, Adamson Bill, Elkins Bill, Hepburn Act, Interstate Commerce Commissions.
