Random recollections of Ivy hockey [manuscript], 1962 September 12.

A paper read to the Albemarle County Historical Society at "Spring Hill" on hockey games in Ivy, Va., from 1902-1962. Players mentioned in the speech included Demetra Vaka Brown, Bernard P. Chamberlain, Junius Fishburne, Bert Gasgoyne, Robert Gooch, Jack Greaves, Allan Gwathmey, Chris Greene, Jack Higginson, Chic Moran, Geza Teleki, Dr. David Wilson, Alice Worthington and David Yalden-Thompson. Of interest is the comment that Ivy Hockey is referred to in H. G. Wells' "Mr. Britling sees it through" with information furnished him by Ronald Trees of "Mirador." Also 25 certificates, 1886-1888, awarded by Pantops Academy, Albemarle Co., Va., to George L. Lyman.
