In a letter, 1836 July 25, Tucker writes to Dolley Payne Todd Madison regarding the publication of James Madison's reports of the debates of the U. S. Constitutional Convention of 1787, mentioning Carey & Lea and Mr. Payne. In another letter, 1937 May 2, to J. Meredith he gives instructions regarding the investment of profits from his wife's estate "Liliendale" and the commission to be paid General Stewart, a trustee.
