Letter to James Breckinridge [manuscript], 1819 July 8, 11, and 16.

Letter, 1819 July 8, Monticello, to James Breckinridge. Jefferson reports on the progress of the University. He mentions the addition of two ranges with dormitories to the original plans, funds available, building of Pavilions, the establishment of Mr. Stack's school in Charlottesville for Latin and Greek and P. Laporte's French boarding house. He discusses teachers he wishes to hire, trouble with the Raggi brothers, and the hiring of brick layers from Virginia and Philadelphia.
