Survey of Lego and translation of "The genius of the ruins" [manuscript], 1809 December 29, n.d.

Jefferson surveyed Lego on 29 December 1809 and made copious notes on the survey (scale 18 poles to the inch). He translated the first part of The Genius of the Ruins, or a Reverie and a Vision Amid the Ruins of Palmyra of the Desert, by Constantin François de Chasseboeuf, Comte de Volney. A copy of a lithograph of John Randolph of Roanoke on horseback is also included.
