Papers of Sir Walter Scott [manuscript], 1805-1871 (bulk 1805-1830).

Scott discusses his "Life of Dryden," William Caxton's "Le morte d'Arthur," Skene's sketches, playwright Joanna Baillie, a biography of Humphrey Davy, a translation of Orlando Furioso, a meeting with the Prince Regent, publishing ventures, financial affairs, family activities and friends. In addition he mentions French political developments, Byron, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Archibald Constable and the Royal Society of Scotland. There is also a resolution regarding a benefit dinner for the Caledonian Asylum, two portraits, and a photograph of Abbotsford, and two letters of Adam Black and James Hope Scott concerning Scott manuscripts and letters.
