Miscellaneous Virginia papers [manuscript], 1826-1950.

The collection includes letters, University of Virginia student notebooks of Archer and Joseph R.J. Anderson, account books and ledgers from various Virginia businesses, and a genealogical record of the Withrow family of Rockbridge County. Of interest is a letter, 1826, from Thomas Mann Randolph to F.W. Maury at the University of Virginia, asking to read and comment upon a translation. Also include letters, 1875-1876, from Mrs. J.H. Fultz to Washington May re: money for Leanna (a freedwoman) and her child; and notes, ca. 1859, in Archer Anderson's school notebook, ca. 1860s, on slavery, disunion and northern and southern character, and volume I of Noah Davis's psychology lectures.
