Henderson's will (1936), manuscripts titled as "Story of Sydenham House" (1954-63), receipts for bills, correspondence (1936-1994), documents related to municipal election (1974), newspaper clippings, files on Jeanette Bjorneby (1970-1991), files on Purdue Alumni Assn., and Transporter magazines (May 1989), and Box #2, files on the Newark Board of Education (1983-84) and photographs of bridges and buildings,etc. Majority of this collection is in process and unboxed.

In the mid 1950s, Dorland J. Henderson, overcoming discrimination, became one of top engineers in the Department of Transportation (N.J.). One of his first assignments was to develop a low level lighting system for the Route 72 bridge spanning Stafford Township and Long Beach Island. This bridge was named after him in 2000.
