San José State Normal School records, 1863-1930.

The San José State Normal School records, 1863-1930, is comprised of various types of Normal School records: enrollment statistics, placement cards and ledgers, graduate lists, teacher's class journals, attendance and achievement records, commencements, diplomas, accounting and miscellaneous financial ledgers and files, board meeting minutes, and trustee information, as well as general records pertaining to the daily operation of the school. Also included are records created by students, such as alumni publications, class diaries, Alpha Phi Omega meeting minutes, scrapbooks, photo albums, and sketches. In addition, the collection contains textiles such as banners, flags and garments. This collection is arranged into four series: Series I: Office of the Registrar records, 1863-1930; Series II: Administrative records, 1867-1900; Series III: Miscellaneous records and publications, 1885-1913; Series IV: Miscellaneous textiles, undated.
