Consist chiefly of correspondence with officers of international labor organizations. Include a file on the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) (1951-1958) with correspondence of J.H. Oldenbroek (general secretary, ICFTU) on the AFL-CIO tour of Latin America, Oldenbroek on ICFTU-ORIT relations, general Latin American politics and labor movement; and Otero Borlaff on Chilean politics and communism. Also, minutes and reports of various conferences. International Labour Office materials (1936-1961) include correspondence chiefly of Bernardo Ibanez during his term of office (1952-1961); and of Luis Monge on the International Labour Organisation (ILO)-ORIT-ICFTU relations, Monge's activities in the ILO, and labor and political issues. Also, articles and addresses presented by Romualdi at various international conferences. ORIT documents (1951-1961) include correspondence of Alberto Colotuzzo and Arturo Jáuregui on relations between various Latin American labor organizations and on the Point IV plan; of Hermes Horne on routine ORIT business; of Jáuregui and Luis Monge on Confederación Interamericana de Trabajadores relations (CIT) relations with the ICFTU and the international labor movement. Also, reports on international labor congresses, and the Cuban revolution. Also, correspondence, statements, and reports from the following: American Institute for Free Labor Development (1963-1965); Confederación Latinoamericana de Sindicalistas Cristianos/Latin American Confederation of Christian Trade Unionists (CLASC) (1960); and Inter-American Association for Democracy and Freedom (1950-1957).

Serafino Romualdi was born in Bastia Umbra (Perugia), Italy on November 18, 1900. He graduated from Teachers' College (Perugia) in 1917 and began teaching grade school. He was a civilian member of the Italian Government's Commission for the Requisition of Cereals in 1919 and 1920, returning to teaching in 1921. Romualdi was editor of a weekly labor paper in Pesaro, Italy called "Il Progresso" during 1922, but was compelled, because of his opposition to Fascism, to leave for the Unit...
