William P. Kirkwood papers, 1893-1957.

The collection includes an extensive correspondence file, chiefly personal, which Kirkwood carried on with other members of his family. Also included are manuscripts and copies of Kirkwood's publications, and a humorous publication called "Golf and Golfbugs" which includes an exchange of verses between Kirkwood and Dean Coffey, among other items.

William P. Kirkwood began working as the Bulletin Editor for the University of Minnesota Agriculture Dept. While working as Bulletin Editor, he started a course in newspaper reporting for St. Paul campus students, later opened to all interested students, and which was the beginning of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism.
