Edwin Beverly Weaver papers, ca. 1928-1938.

The Edwin Beverly Weaver Papers consist primarily of photographs, many of which have some identification. The images, numbering more than 200, include scenery and people of Fairbanks, Alaska; the Fairbanks Exploration Company; the search for Carl Ben Eielson; the Wilkins-Detroit Expedition; and Fairbanks sled dog races. Of special note is a brief series of photographs documenting the Fairbanks Fire Department. Also included in the collection are several undated newspaper clippings concerning Weaver, and Weaver's employee identification card from the Fairbanks Exploration Company.

Edwin Beverly "Buck" Weaver (1903-1965) was born in Lewistown, Montana. He attended Shattock Academy in Fairbault, Minnesota, Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and the University of Washington in Seattle. He came to Alaska in 1928 and remained until 1938, working for the Fairbanks Exploration Company and serving a stint as chief of the Fairbanks Fire Department.
