Pennsylvania Railroad work rules and manuals, 1929-1960.

This collection contains seven Pennsylvania Railroad booklets relating primarily to maintenance of way workers. It contains a 1945 agreement and its supplement between the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, Baltimore and Eastern Railroad Company and the maintenance of way employees of both companies, which were represented by the Pennsylvania Federation of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes. It also contains two copies of an instruction booklet for safe handling of gas and compressed air equipment (written by F.W. Hankins in 1929), one maintenance of way equipment manual (written by C.F. Montague, D.E. Rudisill, and C.J. Henry in 1960), and one book on operating signal and interlocking rules (1947). There is also a savings deposit book (1947 and 1948) with payroll entries for Helton Stone with the Pennsylvania Railroad Employes Provident and Loan Association.
