Thomas Edward Watson was born in Columbia County near Thomson, Georgia on September 5, 1856. He attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and during that time taught school for two years before he was admitted to the bar in 1875. Watson began practicing law in Thomson, Georgia in 1876, where he was also a farmer. Born in Kent Co.,England,son of W.C.Larwill who came to Pa.in 1792 or 1793. 1802 removed to Columbiana Co.,O.,and in 1804 to Liverpool where he was postmaster,1804-1814. With John Bever and William Henry he surveyed and became a proprietor of Wooster, 0h. ,where each owned a quarter section. His brother John was active in many business affairs secured the charter for the Pittsburg, Ft . Wayne,and Chicago R.R. John and Joseph with T.L.Girling formed a dry goods partnership 1918- 1823.
