Born in Kent Co.,England,son of W.C.Larwill who came to Pa.in 1792 or 1793. 1802 removed to Columbiana Co.,O.,and in 1804 to Liverpool where he was postmaster,1804-1814. With John Bever and William Henry he surveyed and became a proprietor of Wooster, 0h. ,where each owned a quarter section. His brother John was active in many business affairs secured the charter for the Pittsburg, Ft . Wayne,and Chicago R.R. John and Joseph with T.L.Girling formed a dry goods partnership 1918- 1823.
