Lower, Mark Antony, 1813-1876

Mark Antony Lower was born in Heathfield, England in July 1813, the son of Richard Lower. He was a school master from the 1830's through the 1860's, including 32 years at Lewes. He was a founding member of the Sussex Archaeological Society and the author of "Patronymica Britannica" and of several scholarly books on the history of Sussex. He died in London in 1876.
