Collection of 48 cancelled bank checks (from the First National Bank of Boston) paid as fees by the Foundation to some of the composers commissioned between 1944 and 1956. Each check is countersigned by Serge Koussevitzky or Olga Koussevitzky and they are endorsed on the verso by each composer. Some of the composers included are: Darius Milhaud, Benjamin Britten, Lukas Foss, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Aaron Copland, Gian Francesco Malipiero, Nicolai Nabokov, Arnold Schoenberg, Walter Piston, Tadeusz Kassern, Roy Harris, Samuel Barber, Leon Kirchner, and many others. Also includes a pamphlet, "The Koussevitzky Music Foundations" describing the history of the Foundations, and listing all the works commissioned by them from 1942 to 1951.
