Myron Lemuel Chandler papers, 1878-1888.

This is a collection of ephemera documenting Myron Chandler's time at Northfield High School and Lewis College/Norwich University. Northfield High School materials include programs, 1878-1883. The Lewis College/Norwich University materials include delinquency excuses, 1882-1884, Theta Chi invitations, 1884, his valedictory address, 1885 (incomplete), and miscellaneous papers, 1886-1887 and undated. Also included is an 1886 catalog from Mount Pleasant Academy, Sing Sing, NY, a military school for boys at which Chandler served as commandant from 1885-1886.

Myron Chandler was born in Berlin, VT, and attended Northfield High School, graduating with the class of 1881. He entered Lewis College (Norwich University was named Lewis College from 1880-1884) in 1881 and was the valedictorian of the class of 1885. He earned his A.M. degree from Norwich University in 1898. During his time at Norwich, he was an editor of the Reveille and a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Myron Chandler received his M.D. from Vermont Medical College in 1891 and served as a ...
